Yes, I Have Accepted the Lord

Congratulations on accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior. The Bible tells us in Romans 10:9

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

You have already confessed your sins before the Lord and by faith you have asked Him to forgive you and save your soul. The Lord has answered your prayer for Salvation and now you are saved.

Three Aspects of Salvation

1. Saved from What?
2. Saved at what Cost?
3. Saved for what Purpose?

1. The obvious thing that we are saved from is Sin, but why do we need to be saved from sin. The Bible tells us in Psalms 38:3 that sin angers God and causes disquiet and a lack of inner peace within us. In Romans 6:21 we are told that sin leads to shame and ultimately death

The death spoken of here is not just physical death but eternal separation from God, and the torments of an eternal Hell.
“The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

2. Salvation is a Gift, meaning that it is offered to us free for the taking, but someone paid for that gift, and that someone is Jesus Christ. “For you are bought with a price: Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit “(1 Corr. 6:20) The cost of our salvation is that Jesus paid the ultimate price by giving His own life as payment for our sins. ”Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” (John: 15:13) and “to give his life a ransom for many.” (Matthew:20:28) Therefore we are able to sing “ Saved by His Power divine, Saved to new life sublime, Life is now sweet, And my joy is complete, For I am saved, saved, saved.”

3. The purpose of our salvation is not only to spare us, personally, from death and hell and to secure for us eternal life in the very presence of God, but we are called to be witnesses willing to share the good news with the rest of the world. Therefore the “Great Commission” (Matthew: 28:18-20) and the teachings of Romans (Chap: 10:13-15) should be considered focal points for the purpose of our Salvation.
